![]() We have adjusted the description to say the song is by Wowaka instead, so please keep this in mind for the future!” I don’t think people would get IN TROUBLE for it, they’d just be told to properly credit things and have the project descriptions changed and told to keep it in mind for the future. Perhaps if a project had improper Vocaloid producer credit, they’d get an alert saying something like “We noticed your project Rolling Girl AMV credited the creator as Hatsune Miku, but the song was written by the producer Wowaka using the Hatsune Miku software. I believe this rule should be added as Scratch wants people to properly credit their sources to the original creator gets recognition. Just saying ‘song is Rolling Girl” may be okay, but saying the song is by Hatsune Miku isn’t okay. The appropriate way to say it would be “song is Rolling Girl by Wowaka” or “song is Rolling Girl by Wowaka, sung by Hatsune Miku” I think there should be a rule to properly credit Vocaloid songs, not allowing “song by Hatsune Miku/Kagamine Rin/Gumi/etc” as it’s disrespectful to the original creator who spent a long time making the song only to be erased from the credits and having the Vocaloid credited instead. ![]() Saying “song by Hatsune Miku” is basically like saying a Mozart song is “played by Flute”. ![]() I’ve seen many people have projects with Vocaloid songs in them and say something like “song is Rolling Girl by Hatsune Miku”, when the song was actually written by Wowaka. The truth is a specific Vocaloid producer made the song USING the Vocaloid software. A common misconception in the Vocaloid community is that a song was made by a Vocaloid, when this isn’t the case.
